The Simply Homegrown Market will begin the 2009 season on Saturday, May 16, from 9 am to 12 noon in front of Butler's II, 74 N. Main Street, in historic downtown Clayton.

    La Gracia: Local, sustainable and mostly certified organic, direct from grower to customer. First of the season -- VERY LARGE, fresh garlic heads with excellent sharp flavor (Kakaskia Red variety,) market priced by size; and a most delectable mango-peach chutney, canned fresh this week. Plus a variety of complementary culinary herbs and that old standard -- 50-50 chutney (the latter priced to sell @ 2 jars for $5.00).

At the market you can expect to find fresh, locally grown (some organic) produce and cut flowers, including greens, tomatoes, beans, cucumbers, peppers, zuchinni, onions, garlic, and herbs.

Our growers include expert home gardeners and farmers from the mountain region that includes Rabun County and neighboring Macon (NC) and Oconee (SC) counties.
